1) If you spawn very close to the enemy then DON'T SHOOT AT THEM. Wait until they summon a vehicle, which they always do right away, kill them and ppl around and then take said vehicles or just keep killing. Just don't let them in a vehicle
2) If the consistent K/D and WP scorer is the SL and the SL says "Do this" then f'n do it. Don't join a squad you aren't willing to follow the SL in. You will get way more points if you just do what the SL typically says.
3) Higher ground EVERY, *******, TIME!!! If you can get higher ground then you get it even if the blueberries aren't doing it. Don't be as stupid as them b/c they are doing whatever it is they do. Get higher ground.
4) It is rare that sniping makes sense in Ambush because uplinks, hives on the ground, rep, injectors, and grenades have significantly more impact on a matches outcome and give way more WP which leads to Orbitals.
5) There is a map where it starts off with a Rail Turret installation. For some reason people like to destroy them for WP. It is the most important installation in all maps of all match types in all modes. I have scored over 2k WP in destroying vehicles and bolas with that turret in the past. Instead of destroying help a teamate take it and hold it. Only a ******* idiot destroys it...period. I don't want to hear the ******* excuse anymore of "what if the enemy gets it". Just ******* protect it.
6) Be cheap as ****. Stop bitching b/c you lost an expensive fit or b/c your K/D isn't at lit's all time high when playing. Don't play ambush b/c it is a giant cluster **** anyway. I run between a 10k to 16k isk fit 90% of the time. In specialized situations I may use a more expensive fit. I also recommend against using Aur fits b/c in a bad match you can lose a lot of them.
7) In open maps it is really effective to carry a rail rifle and try to get the jump on people calling in vehicles. I can't tell you how many 500k ISK drop ships I've either hacked and crashed or killed someone before they could get it and put RE's on it or sometimes I can't hack it as fast as a friendly tank takes it out b/c he is a selfish bastard.
8) If you have more than one ******* rep tool on you then your ass better start shooting at people. I'm fed the **** up with putting a rep tool on someone and they go 1/1 in a match because they spend 93% of it in cover. REP TOOLS = Shoot at raspberries or I'm going to hunt you down every ******* time you spawn into a match on the opposing team even if it crushes my W/L and K/D ratios.
9) If you get revived and die it counts as a death you ******* moron. So everytime you revive me twice or three times in the line of fire my K/D goes to **** b/c of you you moron. STOP REVIVING PPL THAT ARE ONLY GOING TO GET KILLED INSTANTLY.
10) SHOOT AT ****. I don't know what has been happening lately but I've actually seen people spend more time getting shot at then pointing and shooting.
11) Stop running ******* solo you ******* morons. In a squad you'll see everyones scans which is pretty damn important bc a) it tells you where you can find them b) it tells you where to stay away from
12) If you are the moron that puts 4 uplinks down in the worst ******* spots on the planet then just **** YOU...**** YOU BIG TIME
This is half rant and half serious advice. I had the two worst pick up squads I have ever been SL for in the same day. It's never been this bad. Ever. |

Blueberries don't read the forum or help-guides. 2. Take a break if you feel the rage coming. 3. Don't spend more energy on it when you are taking your break from the game. 4. Don't feel bothered by broken gamemodes to begin with or just deal with the crap.
I gave advice to those that squad up not to every single person that does ambush. Here is my response
1) Who cares 2) No **** sherlock, you think of this all on your own 3) Again, you should try out for CSI or something with all your wisdom 4) There aren't any broken gamemodes just broken ass players |

ALPHA DECRIPTER wrote:Is it just me or is the meaning of the DUST slang "Blueberry" changing from "Player NOT in your squad" to "unknown player" and/or "Unskilled player"? If so then:
1) Agree with RKKR as only the unskilled players refuse to view the forums even though they are the ones needing the advice the most. 2) Agree with RKKR. 3) Agree with RKKR. The whole point of the break is to help you chill so thinking and ranting about it isn't gonna help. 4) Agree with Eko as sometimes it just takes a little common sense. Ambush has a few cracks that need to be filled in but I wouldn't go as far to call it "broken".
Ok so I guess I have to repeat something that is written which is the definition of insanity as far as I and Einstein is concerned. The title indicates that my advice is to apply to people that are in a squad so yes the reference to a blueberry is that of a person not in my squad.
1) Because you believe that unskilled people don't get on the forums then nothing should be posted? That makes total sense. I mean, there is no way an unskilled person will ever get on the forums.
2) The reason this is common sense is because I TAKE BREAKS and I believe 90% of everyone that gets mad at a game takes breaks. Example, I've broken 150k WP every week for about 6 weeks. This week I haven't even finished my SP bonus. Hence I take Breaks.
3) Believe it or not, I'm not "raging". This is just how I normally speak to people except I left the filter off for this post. And yes, ranting does help. It's defined as a "copping mechanism". Not everyone handles stress the same way. not to mention that this post isn't a rage as much as it is a few cuss words thrown in with legit advice or info. Name one thing I mentioned that doesn't make sense and I'll side with you on that. For the most part, everything on my list is applicable.
4) Thanks. And personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with ambush at all except people don't seem to listen to the SL in pickup squads. |

I was with you until you made this ******** statement. Who the **** gives a **** about your K/D? Reviving in the line of fire is ********, but that isn't the ******* reason for it.
I agree that my K/D shouldn't matter to others. I wills say that it still is a giant waste of precious time that could be better spent on the battlefield. |

Why people don't listen. First, why people don't listen is a part of character. Second, Your comment loses validity if you aren't perfect yourself.
LOL, you are a hoot man. Let's be clear, Ambush is NOT A SPAWNKILL HARVESTING MODE otherwise there wouldn't be winners. I know it burns just apply some cream.
You are breaking new ground again detective. Find a new squad? Guess I never tried that. |

Perfect? What does that has to do with this? Please keep complaining that people won't listen you if you use other people as a excuse to not change.
Maybe you should hire a detective to find a good squad my dear Watson.
All three of those things are wrong in so many ways it's not funny anymore. You were kind of humorous before or at least relatively applicable in this thread but now it's kind of sad. |

You were kind of humorous before or at least relatively applicable in this thread but now it's kind of sad. you should become a politician with those empty words... So please explain to me what's wrong with that first sentence and explain what perfect has to do with all of this? And what is the problem to begin with if you are able to find a good squad.
The problem is the extra time spent finding members that at least try. Sometimes everyone just does their own thing. Why did they join a squad in the first place.
You made a near condescending criticism "And you wonder why people don't listen to you". I took that to mean that you though it was my fault people joined my squad and don't listen. If that is the case then I would hope you are perfect and get everyone that doesn't normally listen to actually listen. Maybe I was too brief but that was the point I was making about the concept of "perfect".
Winning ambush has nothing to do with camping clones. For example, if you go under ground in the city at the right parts you can almost always win if you have your full team down there. Why? Because the other team likely has at least 2 or 3 people in vehicles going around the city for no reason and the remainder is now outnumbered when they come after the squad underground. That has nothing to do with camping, that is baiting the enemy. Even if you want to say that the enemy failed at camping then it would further justify that camping in anyway shape or form on a predictable spot is not effective enough to claim they "usually win". There are many other strategies to winning that i've used or have seen used effectively that have nothing to do with camping a predictable spot. Not to mention that camping can backfire so easy in ambush because you aren't paying attention enough to other parts of the map. |

RKKR wrote:Don't you have people in your corp you can squad with or other channels?
I didn't mean to be condencending (some people might find your language condenscending). Just kick the people that don't listen.
That's true, but most ambushes are that way.
My corp is more skirmish based and I prefer to deplete my bonus SP via Ambush since I get more ISK, Salvage, WP, and SP per hour that way than Skirmish. I obviously get more salvage via factional but there is a factor in the time it takes to get a match.
I actually love playing with my corp.
I do kick the ones that don't listen I just was overwhelmed yesterday as I've never experienced that level of disregard before. I mean, we were ten meters away from only two guys calling in tanks. If they would have listened we would have had two 100k+ ISK tanks on our side and two pissed off protos. But instead people chased the squirrel. It happened multiple times with multiple pick ups.
You weren't necessarily condescending, I was just being equally cynical. For the most part, yes my language was condescending but I would believe that anyone that SL's and has people join the squad have been equally frustrated.
Although there could have been more purpose before I adjusted the post I stand that if you are going to join a squad then listen to the SL or don't join or make your own "cluster ****" squad and just call it a day. |
